About the author

Anna Camilleri was born Dragana, in Yugoslavia, in October 1968 — the daughter of a homicide detective who became Chief of Police, and a woman who treated glamour as a survival strategy.

She left in September 1991, three months into the war, and arrived in London a year later with a hundred and twenty pounds and no coat, eight days after her country was expelled from the United Nations.

She has since founded and run magazines, marketing companies and medical clinics, published two books on the aesthetics industry, and qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist.

At fifty-seven she is studying criminology. It is the third attempt. Her father cancelled the first by telephone in 1987.

She has three grown children and lives in west London.

Who Is the Villain? is her first memoir.

British by mentality. Londoner by choice. Serbian by resilience.
